Mount Vernon

Listed as the 8th most populous and 2nd most densely populated city in New York, Mount Vernon is comprised of 4 main neighborhoods—Downtown, Mount Vernon Heights, North Side and South Side.  Mount Vernon residents have access to many transportation options into New York City.

Residents are served by both the New Haven and Harlem lines of the Metro North with a total of 3 stations (Mount Vernon East, Mount Vernon West, and Fleetwood).  Furthermore, the city ensures that each resident is within a seven to ten-minute walk to a bus, subway, or train line.  Families and individuals looking for activities can visit the Mount Vernon Public Library—the largest in Westchester—or take a swim in the wave pool at historic Willson’s Woods park.
